Regine Tribute: Warlord's confidant?

Regine a character that plays prominently in the Warlord comic book. I feel that she is the most interesting character in the comic thus far with her wavering loyalties and flaunted sexappeal she is bound to spell doom for the Warlord or herself as time passes.

As of the last 2 or 3 issues, Bart has been drawing her in this strap or band looking outfit and I just couldn't resist the urge to draw her. Here she is featured with Brovis, the antagonist of the story so far.

If you need something like a car or a motorcycle, please include reference because I suck at drawing that stuff and it will be an additional cost to the drawing as if there were another character on the page so please be specific!

The Breakdown:

I request that the commissioner pay for ½ (50%) of the total purchase up front. After this has been done, and the payment clears, we can get started on your order, pending that there aren't too many orders ahead of yours.

Rob Liefeld's: Suprema

Discovered last night that Rob Liefeld as a website. While rummaging through his site I also discovered that the Supreme Family has grown. Rob had more than a few great renderings of the character Suprema who spotted a more than a little muscle and you all know that I like me a chick with a little muscle. Needless to say I was inspired to draw her and here she is.

At first I was really happy with this but I'm starting to see some proportion issues with relation to the feet & forearms.

On another note, I know that Mr. Liefeld isn't the most popular guy in comics and despite his reputation I'm still and always will be a fan of his work. I feel that the mark that he left on the industry is undeniable.

let me know what you think.

Champ & Vic: Flight

Made som revisions to the Drawing

Over 5000 Unique Visits Thanks Guys!
Here they are again,
I had a lot of trouble with this one, I'm sure that you can see all of the flubs and misses on this drawing. When I do one like this, it makes me feel as though I shouldn't bother with drawing. I can't tell you how many times I redrew Victory's face and the leg is just horrible, but what ever. Despite the shortcomings I can't help but be satisfied with this one.

Here is a link to the previous image.

Lookie Lookie!

UPDATE:
I Found a copy of the color version here:
http://www.mycomicshop.com.
What's really great about this one is that I have been listed on the credits for the comic, It makes me feel like an industry player, a real mover & shaker.

Look at what I found the other day while rummaging through the Mile High Comics website!

This is my first, ever, mainstream comic! Featured here is the Ashcan Edition, released by Anubis Press in early 1994.

Cover Illustration: Hoang Nguyen.
Writer & Penciler: Me
Inks; Sal (someone)pgs 1-7 (Ruined) Jason Justice pgs. 8-22 (Awesome!)
Editor: John Burgerud

This issue was followed by a color edition as well as an Ashcan edition for the second issue (Issue 2 never saw the light of color.) I've posted a link on the navigation bar to the right for those that would like to make a purchase.

As I recall, I was told by John Burgerud, the proprietor of Anubis Press, that this Ashcan was limited to a 5000 count print run, so there aren't that many available.

This was the worst experience I have had to date with comic publishing. Shortly after my drawing appearance in Wizard Magazine, for the Cable Contest, I was getting calls from comic companies looking for me to do something here or there. I signed on with Anubis who wanted to have me do a creator owned book. I thought that it was great opportunity with the success of Image Comics fresh on the scene during that era, I thought that I couldn't lose.

I signed a contract for $300 & 100 copies for 1 comic after submitting a 7 page short story at John's request. He wanted to extend the comic to a full length feature and I remember being a little daunted having never written anything more than a High School essay at that point. This coupled with my freshman year in college and juggling art chores for an LH Art title called Abstinence I was stretching myself thin and everything around me suffered, most of all the Snake.

When the book was finally completed, John graciously informed me that he would only be able to pay me half of the contracted agreement to pay the colorist. I reluctantly agreed because I wanted to see the comic in print but I was a little disheartened at the disrespect, it's not really like I had a say in the matter, I guess that I can consider myself lucky that he even mentioned it to me.

I started work on the second issue about a month after the pages for the first comic were completed with inks & colors. The second Issue featured characters created by good friends of mine, saber (Fernando Amico) & Addax (Christian Zaffo), whom I worked into the subplot. This one saw the light of an Ashcan Edition with the cover I had drawn for the for the First issue appearing on it (the Second Issue?) and I was never paid for the work that I did for issue 2 but I have to consider myself lucky to have gotten most of my art back from Anubis.

Se La Vi

Those days are long gone and I never accomplished anything from that point to present in the comic Industry. Perhaps that will change at some point but until then, this is my only legit publishing credit. If you are interested in owning a copy, I'll warn you again that it's horrible.
Thanks
EJ

Domino Lady: Inc.

Here is the inked version of the drawing.

I went out last week and dropped a bundle of cash on art supplies in an effort to make this look professional. I do not have a fondness for inking as some of you may know, I credit my deteriorating eye sight to drawing and mostly to the rigorous ink style that I developed in High school.

But I tried to look past my issues & history with inks to get this on done and I have to say that I really enjoyed the process. I use crow-quill nib for the finer details and a brush for the spot blacks and some of the tree textures in the background.

I think that I was able to harness a little control with the quill, but the brush proved to be the greater adversary on this drawing which prompted me to have to do some editing in Photoshop after the scan. That was great too, playing with the Path tool to clean up the image a bit has sparked the desire to try inking digitally the next time around.

Having the Graphic Design background really helps with getting around in these complicates Adobe Programs.
Thanks for stopping in,
EJ

Domino Lady: Revised

I didn't want to inundate this blog with Domino Lady Revisions. After some careful redrawing, I think that I have a success here that addressed more of the issues that have plagued me and others about this drawing since I have made it available to the viewing public. It was suggested by Ron, that the Orginal was better to the second and I have to agree, but I tried to capture some of the original intention with this latest version. I hope that I have the go-ahead on this one. - - Please comment.

I neglected to tell those that come here to read about what I have to say, that I had posted this image at the Digital Webbing site and received some great responses on how to make the drawing better. So. . . Here are some of the revisions, I had to restructure some of the figure, the most noticeable change is the arm behind her head.

Other comments noted the the head was too large, the neck was too long things that I couldn't see before but addressed the issue anyway. Now I really think that the neck is too long and perhaps the head is too small and her lips look obscene now too.

Anyway, feel free to let me know what you think, I would like to see more thoughts from folks here. One of the reasons that I go to the DW site is that there is always a fresh perspective on the work that I do. It makes me try harder to do things better and really work on how I approach a drawing.
Thanks for looking,
EJ.
